Cabadbaran

Known as one of the oldest districts tracing its existence since 1,200 A.D, it prides itself with rich heritage. This thriving city has a couple of archeological sites namely; Brgy. Calibunan, Sanghan, La Union, Kauswagan and Caasinan.

Wander around Cabadaran City, bursting with Spanish colonial houses. Do not miss the glamorous Atega Ancestral House, the home of Andres Atega, the city’s revolutionary hero. The ancient settlements along the waterways of Caasinan, Capudlusan and Cambuayon village are also worth checking out.  A couple of archeological artifacts have been excavated here from pre-Spanish era and are now exhibited at the mini Cabadbaran Museum.

Stretch your muscles by trekking from Pirada Road junction through the rugged river leading to a massive stone called Higanteng Bato (Giant Stone).

For the more adventurous, test your endurance by climbing the highest peak in Northeastern Mindanao – Mt. Hilong-hilong.  Be rewarded with a placid lake, majestic waterfalls and—if you are lucky—get to see a Philippine Eagle in flight, which is known to reside here.
